Notice for Overseas Travel of Overseas Students Receiving a Scholarship During School Term
- The regulations pertaining to overseas travels and the issuance of scholarship may differ. Overseas students receiving any on- or off-campus scholarships shall pay attention to the following requirements should they need to travel overseas during school term.
- Procedure for Leave Application:
- Allowable circumstances for leaves
- Those who must travel overseas during school term or during the winter and summer vacations and cannot return to Taiwan until after the subsequent semester begins.
- Those who wish to complete remote courses in their home country during school term under the condition that their department/professors conduct remote teaching.
- Those who have completed the graduation requirements for a master’s or doctoral degree and must travel overseas during school term for research purposes.
- The definition of winter and summer vacations is mainly based on the school calendar; the start of a semester is the when semesters classes begin and the end of a semester is the last day of the final exam week. Because there are two flexible learning weeks after each final exam, overseas students shall confirm with their departments the date of their last day of class.

- Please log in to NYCU Portal to enter the Students Leave System operated by the Office of Student Affairs to apply for a leave.
- Overseas students who travel overseas without applying for leave prior to departure are required to submit a paper leave form to complete the procedure for leave application.
- Approved leave requests must be e-mailed to the Division of Overseas Student Affairs and the Division of International Talent Cultivation for future reference.
