Program Profile
Supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Taiwan, the Taiwan-Europe Connectivity Scholarship program aims to encourage students from Europe to come to Taiwan to study Mandarin and engage in exchanges with Taiwanese students. This will allow Taiwan to make a positive addition to people-to-people exchanges between Taiwan and Europe.
-Eligibility
All students from European institutions who wish to participate in a non-degree study program (either semester exchange or short-term research) at NYCU.
-Scholarship Amount
Monthly stipend for a minimum of NTD19,000 for five months. (The exact amount of the scholarship will be subject to adjustment by NYCU.)
The recipients are required to take one Chinese language course and fulfill the course requirements.
The recipients are required to participate in a series of cultural activities designed by the host institution.
- Exchange Abroad Fair
- Conversation Circle
- English Teaching at Local Junior High Schools (2-3 sessions)
Timeline
-Fall Semester: middle of September to the middle of January of next year
-Spring Semester: middle of February to the middle of June
(Complying with the academic calendar of NYCU)
*Students must spend the entire semester at NYCU.
Application Instructions
Email application directly to the program coordinator after applying for the exchange or short-term research program.
Admission
The scholarship spots are adjusted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs each semester, the final confirmation will be announced at least one month ahead of the student’s entry.
Once admitted, a Certificate of Award will be issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for visa application.
Other Information
- The activities might be subject to adjustments by NYCU in each semester.
- During the exchange/short-term research period, expenses such as accommodation, facility, and other necessary fees are at the student’s own expense.
- Complying with the program regulation by the Taiwan government, students with a PRC passport are ineligible for the program
