Asian Future Leaders Scholarship Program (AFLSP) at Kyoto University – April 2026 Enrollment
Kyoto University is pleased to announce the call for applications for the Asian Future Leaders Scholarship Program (AFLSP) for students enrolling in April 2026.
About the Scholarship
The AFLSP, supported by the Bai Xian Asia Institute and the Bai Xian Education Foundation, has been operated at Kyoto University since 2014. The program provides scholarships to encourage deeper understanding of cultural diversity and aims to cultivate human resources who can contribute to the development of Asia and the world.
Eligibility
Applicants must expect to enroll as a regular (degree-seeking) student in one of the following at a graduate school of Kyoto University in April 2026:

- Master’s degree program
- Professional degree program
- First year of a five-year doctoral program
Application Period
- November 4 (Tue) – November 13 (Thu), 2025 (until 5:00 p.m. Japan time)
- Students must apply directly for the scholarship.
- Applicants must also pass the entrance examination of the relevant graduate school.
- Admission procedures vary by graduate school; in some cases, applications to the graduate school must be submitted before the AFLSP application period.
