Program Profile
The Scholarship for Short-term International Students is established to attract outstanding international students to engage in non-degree programs at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University to promote campus internationalization and enhance academic reputation.

Introduction to Scholarship for Short-term International Students

-Eligibility
  1. Students enrolled in NYCU’s key partner institutions who wish to participate in a non-degree study program (either semester exchange or short-term program) at NYCU.
  2. Applicants shall have an average GPA of 2.7/4.3 or above for the previous two semesters at the time of application. For students with only one semester of grades, the GPA of that semester shall be used as the evaluation standard.

-Scholarship Amount
Determined separately by the International Scholarship Committee. Maximum to NTD 40,000 for one semester.

Application Instructions
-Application Documents:
  1. Resume in English
  2. Study plan in English
  3. Transcript over the years in English
  4. Certificate of enrolment and a photocopy of the passport
  5. Other materials benefiting application reviews (e.g., letters of recommendation)

-Application Deadlines:
For Semester Exchange:
  • Fall Semester: 30th April
  • Spring Semester: 30th October
For Short-term Program:
3 months ahead of the program start date.


Admission
The final confirmation will be announced at least one month ahead of the student’s entry.

Other Information
  1. The recipients are required to participate in a series of cultural activities designed by NYCU. The activities might be subject to adjustments by the Office of International Affairs.
  2. During the approved period at NYCU, expenses such as accommodation, facility, and other necessary fees are at the student’s own expense.
  3. Complying with the program regulation by the Taiwan government, students with a PRC passport are ineligible for the program.
