The Association of East Asian Research Universities (AEARU)

The Association of East Asian Research Universities (AEARU) is a regional organization dedicated to leading research-oriented universities in East Asia and promoting collaboration among major universities in the region. AEARU's membership includes the presidents of prominent universities from five areas of East Asia: the Chinese Mainland, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. Since its establishment in 1996, 16 universities from these regions have joined the association.
NYCU became a member of AEARU in January 2019. We plan to actively host and participate in workshops, student summer camps, physical competitions, and international symposia in the near future. Our aim is to promote the mutual exchange of ideas and information and to strengthen the relationships among member universities.
