【Event】The 19th APRU Multi-Hazards Symposium 2024

The 19th APRU Multi-Hazards Symposium 2024 with the theme “Forging Sustainable and Resilient Futures: Science, Technology and Innovation for Disaster Risk Reduction”.We invite experts and scholars in atmospheric sciences, hydrological sciences, geology, social sciences, and disaster prevention and response to share their latest research results and promote international communication and cooperation.

Date & Time: October 1–3, 2024
Location: GIS NTU Convention Center, Taipei

This year, the symposium will focus on nine sub-topics:
  1. Lessons learned from Earthquakes of Noto and Hualien
  2. Tectonic and geological multi-hazards
  3. Weather, climate, and hydrology multi-hazards
  4. Advanced science and technology regarding AI, big data, and GIS
  5. Early warning systems for multi-hazards
  6. Disaster impact analysis and risk assessment
  7. Risk communication and disaster risk reduction
  8. Disaster management and education
  9. Gender, diversity, and inclusion in disaster risk reduction
Call for Abstracts
We are accepting abstracts that will fall under the nine sub-topics from now on till  August 7, 2024
*The abstract body should be short (100–500 words), clear, concise, and written in English with correct spelling and good sentence structure.

Student Poster Competition
The theme must fall under the nine sub-topics of this year’s symposium.The poster should be 84×118.8cm (A0) in portrait orientation and must be written in English.Upload the summary of the poster in English, without pictures and equations (plain text only) before August 7, 2024.
